Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) tasked National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to bring Husain Haqqani back to Pakistan.
Supreme Court ordered NAB to bring back Husain Haqqani who has a connection with Memogate scandal. CJP Saqib Nisar heard the scandal and remarked that NAB and United Nations Security Council (UNSC) have agreements related to the return of accused.
However, according to Ahmer Bilal Soofi, amicus curiae (friend of the court), NAB can bring Husain Haqqani back to Pakistan.
CJP Saqib Nisar said that NAB chairman can issue warrants for the previous diplomat’s arrival. However, the court observed that there are troubles attributable to an absence of repatriation understandings amongst Pakistan and different nations.
CJP Saqib Nisar said that laws be drafted for conveying back suspects to Pakistan and guided the Parliament to make enactment on repatriation concurrences with different countries in a month.
The Memogate scandal emitted in 2011 when Pakistani-American Mansoor Ijaz professed to have gotten an anti-army memo from Husain Haqqani for US joint chiefs chairman Admiral Mike Mullen.
