Supreme Court of Pakistan will hear Model Town case of year 2014 on Wednesday (today).
The Model Town case hearing will begin today as the SC larger bench will hear the case. Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Mazhar Alam Mian, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, and Justice Faisal Arab are included in the bench.
However, 146 persons including former chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Chaudhry Nisar, and Rana Sanaullah got notices in the case.
On November 19, Supreme Court ordered the formation of larger bench of 5 members. However, the aim was to hear the petition asking for new joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the Model Town case.
Apex Court also took the notice on the appeal of Bisma Amjad, who mother was among the people martyred in the firing incident.
Earlier, on September 26, Lahore High Court rejected the plea by Minhaj ul Quran to nominate the Sharif brothers and other people as accused in the case.
