Nine more individuals have been arrested in connection with a child abuse case at a madrassa in Chaliyar, Khwazakhela, Swat. Following the arrests, the local administration sealed the madrassa and handed over all enrolled children to their parents.
According to the Swat District Police Officer (DPO), a teacher allegedly involved in the incident has already been taken into custody, while efforts to trace two remaining suspects are ongoing.
Investigation carries on to reveal that children have been undergoing constant physical abuse of several months. The equipment used in the abuse was found in the madrassa premises by police.
A FIR has been lodged based on Section 302 of PPEC and Child Protection Act. In Pakistan, the case is being handled as a top priority into child abuse investigation.
