Taj Haider Bridge Karachi Opens for Public Use
The Sindh Transport Department has officially opened the Taj Haider Bridge Karachi, a key transport link near Qayyumabad Chowrangi. The bridge will operate one-way for the first ten days before shifting to a two-way traffic system. The project is part of the city’s ongoing urban transport plan to improve connectivity between industrial and residential zones.
Taj Haider Bridge Location
The Taj Haider Bridge location lies near Qayyumabad Chowrangi, connecting Korangi Industrial Area and nearby localities. It is a major section of the Yellow Line BRT project launched under the Sindh government’s transport development program. The bridge, strategically positioned to ease heavy traffic on the previous Jam Sadiq Bridge, now set for demolition and reconstruction.
Taj Haider Bridge Route
Taj Haider Bridge route has bus, cyclist, and public transport lanes as part of the growing Karachi BRTs network. It will have a two-way traffic once in full swing and will allow smoother access between Korangi and Qayyumabad with other industrial hubs. The bridge will also link in future with the Karachi Electric bus system between Gulshan-e-Maymar and Tower reinforcing the Karachi intercity transport system.
The Sindh government is looking to promote urban mobility, lessen congestion, and facilitate the operations of the industry with the opening of the Taj Haider Bridge Karachi. The bridge is a significant milestone towards an interconnected transport system between the Karachi industrial areas and the urban limits.
