According to the latest transparency report, TikTok removed over 12.89 million videos in Pakistan in the initial three months of 2025 because they breached guidelines on community standards.
The report spanning the periods January to March 2025 reveals a proactive removal rate of 99.4 per cent in Pakistan. The deleted materials were observed to be removed by around 95.8% within 24-hours after posting.
TikTok removed 211 million of the videos globally which translates to 9 out of every 1,000 posts made. In these, 184.37 million videos were automatically detected and deleted and thereafter 7.52 million proceeded to be reviewed and restored. The total proactive removal rate was 99.0 percent out of which 94.3 percent of the flagged videos have been removed in 24 hours or less.
The majority content removed were videos with adult or sensitive theme (30.1%). Some of the other contraventions were:
- 11.5% breaching platform safety policies
- 15.6% violating privacy and security rules
- 45.5% flagged for misinformation
- 13.8% identified as altered media or AI-generated content
TikTok’s moderation system continues to focus on policy enforcement, safety standards, and early detection of misleading and harmful content across regions.
