Traffic Disruptions Across Punjab Due to Fog, Impacts Highways and Motorways

The onset of winter in Punjab has brought with it an increase in fog, leading to significant disruptions in traffic across the region. The patrolling police report that the foggy conditions have particularly affected the smooth flow of traffic on highways and motorways.

According to authorities, the motorway M-4, stretching from Gojra to Abdul Hakeem, and the M-3, spanning from Darkhana to Rajana, have been temporarily closed due to reduced visibility caused by the dense fog. Commuters are advised to exercise caution and consider alternative routes.

In addition to the motorways, Narowal Road and the Sikhr Multan M-5 have also experienced traffic disruptions. The fog has significantly reduced visibility on Narowal Road, particularly from Bhijna to Kartarpur, with recorded visibility as low as 30 meters. Travelers in these areas are urged to be vigilant and follow safety guidelines.

As the fog gradually dissipates, authorities have reopened the M-5 motorway from Zahir Pir to Achh Sharif. However, commuters are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and adhere to traffic advisories to ensure a safe journey.
