Transport Fares Likely to Drop as Petrol Prices Decrease in Pakistan

Punjab’s Transport Minister, Bilal Akbar, has responded swiftly to the recent drop in fuel prices by directing the formation of special teams to adjust transport fares. The initiative is aimed at ensuring fare transparency at bus stations and transport hubs, preventing overcharging by operators.

With petrol prices reduced by Rs10 per liter and diesel by over Rs13 per liter, Minister Akbar has stressed the need for immediate adjustments in fares. He has called for a detailed report on the updated fare lists and the enforcement of these changes.

Strict actions are promised against any transport operators found exploiting commuters with excessive charges, highlighting the government’s focus on fairness and transparency in the transport sector.
