Treason Petition Submitted in LHC Against Nawaz Sharif by PAT


LAHORE: A petition of treason has been filed against Nawaz Sharif in the Lahore High Court in light of Nawaz’s controversial remarks on 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Nawaz Sharif’s recently given statements about 2008 Mumbai attacks have created sparks in the nation. Indian media is using this statement as admission of Pakistan’s involvement in the terrorist attacks. In response petition was filed against Nawaz Sharif in Lahore highcourt by PAT.

The petition filed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, states that Nawaz maligned Pakistan and its institutions. It states that Nawaz Sharif’s statement regarding 2008 Mumbai attacks tantamount to treason. Instructions should be provided to register a case of treason against Nawaz Sharif.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has also submitted two resolutions against Nawaz Sharif in the Punjab Assembly. The opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mehmoodur Rasheed and Dr Murad Raas are the ones who submitted the resolutions.

The resolution states that Nawaz Sharif has been silent on the matter of Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav and ongoing atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir. But Nawaz is spreading poison against the state.

Nawaz Sharif had recently given a statement to a local news outlet. The statement said “Militant organisations are active. Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai? Explain it to me. Why can’t we complete the trial?”

PML-N has said that Nawaz’s statements are not the party’s narrative or its policies. Shehbaz Sharif had tweeted on his social media account that country’s interest of highest priority. Read the news here.
