UAE President Pakistan Visit: JF-17 Thunder to Provide Aerial Security for Presidential Aircraft

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is to land in Islamabad today, December 26, 2025. This marks his first official visit since becoming President. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended the invitation to strengthen the brotherly ties between both nations.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to execute a flawless security protocol. Two JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, known as “Shaheens,” will flank the presidential aircraft the moment it enters Pakistani territory. These warplanes will maintain this protective escort until the President reaches international airspace upon departure.

In order to control the high profile movement, the administration announced a localized public holiday in Islamabad. When government offices are closed, still necessary services such as hospitals and police are not closed. This visit is not only ceremonial. The two leaders are currently going through the pivotal bilateral relations and are looking at areas such as trade, energy and the stability of their regions.
Pakistan still depends on the UAE as an important economic partner. This meeting is meant to secure new investments and develop the strategic partnership.
