Chilas: 13 girls schools in Gilgit Biltistan were attacked by unidentified men on late Thursday night.

According to sources, 13 girls schools in Gilgit Biltistan across Diamer district were attacked and damaged. Attackers also fired some items in targeted schools. In addition, explosions were also heard in 2 schools. Police also began the search operation in the area.

Terrorists often target girls schools in northern areas of Pakistan. However, in 2011, 2 girls schools were damaged by explosions in Chilas. At the start of 2018, 2 girls schools were also blown up by the terrorists.

In 2004, several attacks on girls schools observed in Chilas. 8 girls schools were destroyed in 5 days during February 2004.
