Updated Fee Structure for Pakistani Passports
The government has recently revised the fee structure for both normal and urgent categories. As of April 2024, the fee for a standard 36-page passport with a 5-year validity has raised to Rs 4,500 from the previous Rs3,000. The urgent processing fee has seen an increase from Rs5,000 to Rs7,500.
10-year validity period: the fee for a 36-page passport has hiked to Rs 6,700, with the urgent fee now standing at Rs 11,200.
72-page passport valid for 5 years: the normal processing fee is Rs 8,200 and the urgent processing fee is Rs 13,500.
100-page passport valid for 10 years: the new fee is Rs12,400 for regular processing and Rs20,200 for urgent processing.
Essential Documents for New Passport Application
- Proof of prescribed passport fee payment, either through Original Bank Paid Fee Challan (receipt) or e-Payment Confirmation Detail (SMS/Email along with PSID No.)
- Original Valid CNIC/NICOP with a photocopy.
- Previous Passport in original with its photocopy, (if issued).
- NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the concerned department for government, semi-government or autonomous body employees.
Delivery Time for Machine Readable Passports (MRP)
Once successfully processed, the machine-readable passports (MRP) delivered within the following timeframes:
- Normal: 21 working days
- Urgent: 5 working days
- Fast Track: 2 working days
