Washington: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived Pakistan for the crucial talks.
Mike Pompeo and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford reached Islamabad today. They were received by Shah Mehmood Qureshi upon reaching the Foreign Office from Nur Khan Airbase. However, it is the first high level visit from the United States after the formation of new government.
During the talks, regional, bilateral, and international issues were discussed. In addition, Mike Pompeo is expected to call on Army Chief General Qamar Jawed Bajwa and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Earlier, Mike Pompeo revealed that he hopes for the betterment of relations between Pakistan and the United States. He said that the inevitable aftereffect of cooperating could mean the guide to Pakistan could restore. Pompeo further added that on the off chance that that emerges once more, he is certain they’ll present to the US president the method of reasoning for that, and after that something to that effect may bode well.
The visit is exceptionally planned, particularly in light of the staggeringly cold US-Pakistan relations, and the Trump organization’s on-and-off calls to “no more” and “do more”.
