Karachi is experiencing ongoing intermittent rain, affecting various parts of the city. Areas such as Gulistan-e-Johar, Scheme 33, Saadi Town, Landhi Majeed Colony, Safora Goth, Quaidabad, and Saddar are witnessing continuous showers. Other regions, including Clifton, Nursery, Hassan Square, Federal B Area, Korangi, and North Karachi, are also drenched as rain persists.
The Meteorological Department reports that heavy rainfall is particularly intense in North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Malir, and Saadi Town. This weather has already resulted in tragic incidents, with one person electrocuted in Metrovill. The department has warned that heavy rain will continue until August 31.
In other parts of Sindh, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Kandhkot, Dadu, and Tando Muhammad Khan are also under the spell of continuous rainfall. In Matiari, the streets have turned into ponds, with waterlogging creating havoc in neighborhoods. The situation is dire in Bhitshah, where a house roof collapse claimed the life of a woman and left two children injured.
As Karachi and surrounding areas brace for more rain, the city remains on high alert, with authorities urging residents to take precautions to avoid further casualties.
