Lahore, the bustling capital of Punjab, has been restructured into 11 new tehsils, enhancing the city’s governance and public services. This strategic move, approved by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is designed to refine financial management and bolster public relief efforts.
Previously, Lahore District was organized into six tehsils. The recent reorganization, as outlined in the Board of Revenue’s official notification, divides the district into several new tehsils with designated seats: Raiwind with 51 seats, Allama Iqbal Town with 19 seats, Nishtar with 42 seats, Model Town with 21 seats, Cantt with 35 seats, Sadar and Wagah each with 62 seats, Shalimar with 23 seats, Ravi with 23 seats, and Lahore City with 23 seats.
This restructuring aims to streamline administrative functions and improve service delivery across Lahore, reflecting a significant step towards more effective city management.
