Karachi residents must prepare for colder nights and disrupted routines. Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced a fixed nightly gas shutdown due to severe supply shortfalls. The winter gas load shedding schedule Karachi mandates a seven-hour daily gas closure. The ban, following ECC guidelines, runs from 10 pm to 5 am for all domestic consumers in Sindh.
SSGC Gas Load Shedding Schedule Confirmed
SSGC officially confirmed a seven-hour daily gas shutdown for homes across Sindh. This measure, running from 10 pm to 5 am, is a direct response to a worsening supply shortage. Officials state the utility operates with far less gas than anticipated this year. This steep decline forced the company to implement the nighttime closure.
A spokesperson said that the ssgc gas load shedding plan intends to repenetrate line-pack pressure. This accumulated pressure is necessary in the demand of the next day during the cooking hours. The first load-shedding was not to be planned by the authorities on the residential users, but the decreased supply necessitated immediate measures as per seasonal load-management strategy.
Conservation does not only take place in domestic kitchens. Plans of transport users have to be changed too. CNG industry will now be involved in the intermittent closure on a weekly basis. This is a bigger measure that is aimed at extending the small supply of national gas as the cold winter months come in. In the past eight years, natural depletion of gas supplies has seen the supply reduced by more than half.
SSGC encourages the consumer to modify their routine to the evening gap. Keep ready of the possible additional changes when the temperatures will go down and the demand will rise. The winter gas load shedding plan Karachi is needed to achieve the stability of the whole system.
