CCTV footage has emerged showing the Vigo vehicle of JDC Foundation’s founder Zafar Abbas involved in a motorcycle accident near Ancholi. Police have detained the driver and taken the vehicle into custody.
According to police, the incident occurred near a U-turn on Shahrah-e-Pakistan in Samanabad police jurisdiction. A Vigo (registration number LH-0110) hit a motorcycle (KGE-0255), seriously injuring two young men, identified as 19-year-old Muhammad Ibrahim and 17-year-old Abdul Ahad.
Initial claims by Zafar Abbas suggested that the motorbike had no headlight and collided with the Vigo on its own. However, newly surfaced CCTV footage contradicts the statement. The video shows the Vigo driving on the wrong side of the road, with two guards in the back seat, taking a turn where it collided with a bike coming from the correct direction. The injured riders were thrown off the motorcycle due to the impact.
Police confirmed that the Vigo is registered in Zafar Abbas’s name and was being driven by Arab Raza. After the accident, the Vigo reportedly fled the scene, leaving the victims on the road.
The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital. Police have recorded the driver’s initial statement and seized both vehicles involved in the accident.
According to SHO Samanabad, the families of the injured victims are in contact with police but have chosen not to register an FIR yet. They stated their focus is currently on the medical treatment of their children and will decide later on further legal action.
Police have completed initial procedural formalities and documented the victims’ statement for record.
