Zulfiqar Ahmed: Cola Next Owner Returns Home Safely

On July 23, prominent businessman Zulfiqar Ahmed was abducted from Maripur, Karachi, but has now safely returned to his family in Lahore. Ahmed, who was forcibly taken by unidentified individuals, was reported missing and a kidnapping case was registered at the Kalri police station on July 26.

DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that Ahmed has reestablished contact with his family, who have verified his safe return. According to his lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, Ahmed will soon reunite with his loved ones as communication with him has been confirmed.

Earlier, Mian Ashfaq criticized the police for their lack of cooperation in locating Ahmed during an interview on Geo News’ “Naya Pakistan.” He revealed that the police only formed an investigative team after a High Court petition was filed. Ashfaq further suggested that the case may involve enforced disappearance rather than a straightforward kidnapping.
