Amazon Wants to Promote Small Package Delivery Fleets

Seattle: Amazon revealed that it wants to encourage the small businesses for their own delivery fleets.

Amazon announced that they will offer rewards to businesses who will launch their own small scale package delivery businesses. However, company is making all efforts to resolve the issues related to the transportation or delivery of goods.

Amazon revealed that the qualified entrepreneurs can easily start their businesses for as low as $10,000. However, it does not include the recruitment costs of drivers. In addition, a 40 vehicle fleet could earn them an annual profit of as much as $300,000.

Dave Clark, companys SVP of worldwide operations, said that he is expecting to see fleet operators with 20 to 40 vehicles with 100 drivers. However, he did not offer any detail about the incentives. He also did not reveal that whether it will base on pay per month, per mile driven, or per delivery.

Amazon Spokesperson said that the branded vans will be only used for the companys deliveries. However, the initiative will also give a tough time to the competitors like FedEx and United Parcel Service. The last mile delivery is among the biggest challenges in the retail industry. However, online shoppers always want a fast and quick delivery of their orders.
