Karachi’s Coastal Areas on Alert: Biparjoy to enhance water level, Residents Urged to Prepare

In the coastal regions of Karachi, the effects of an impending sea storm are becoming increasingly apparent, as water levels surge along the shoreline.

Coastal settlements in Karachi are currently grappling with the forceful gusts generated by the encroaching sea storm. Specifically, Chashma Goth and Rehri Goth are witnessing a continuous rise in sea levels.

The water has already encroached upon the roadside in Chashma Goth, yet residents have refrained from evacuating their homes at this time. Similarly, Rehri Goth’s jetty succumbs to submersion as the water level continues to escalate.

Meanwhile, despite the imminent sea storm, the Meteorological Department forecasts a day of hot and humid conditions for Karachi.

The city may also encounter issues related to air pollution, with the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rainfall during the afternoon or evening hours.

Karachi experienced a morning temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach a range of 37 to 39 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the lowest recorded temperature was 30.5 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels peaking at 58 percent.
