Long March 2C: China Launched Rocket Carrying 2 Pakistani Satellites

Beijing: China released the Long March 2C rocket which also carries 2 remote sensing satellites of Pakistan.

Long March 2C carrying Pakistani satellites launched at 08:56am PST (11:56am local time). However, the two satellites are PakTES-1A and PRSS-1. PakTES-1A is the indigenously developed observatory satellite of Pakistan. It weighs 285 Kilograms and will provide the great support to the local space program. It will remain stationary 610 kilometers in space. In addition, its position with respect to the sun will also not change.

PakTES-1A is a Remote Sensing Satellite (RSS). However, it will be utilized to study different geographical details with the help of advanced sensors and cameras. It will study about determination of mineral deposits, melting glaciers, greenhouse gases, forestry, agriculture, etc.

On the other side, PRSS-1 is the first Chinese optical remote sensing satellite provided to Pakistan. In addition, it is the 17th satellite that China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) designed for the foreign buyer.
