During the comparison of the scope of abilities of the GPT-5 with previous work on technological projects, its CEO and the founder of OpenAI, Sam Altman, mentioned positive signs of development combined with distrust. There was a chart display error in the launch presentation and was subsequently corrected in official blog posts.
OpenAI had earlier in 2025 acquired a hardware startup io, teamed up with Google Cloud TPUs to diversify the infrastructure and gained governmental contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense and the UK in the government sector.
“Chart GPT” is not an official OpenAI product. It refers to independent research tools that generate charts from natural language prompts. These tools are separate from ChatGPT and OpenAI GPT-5.
