Web Desk: Renowned online cab booking service Uber has unveiled a latest app for its drivers on Tuesday. The salient features of app include a real-time earnings tracker, and the ride-hailing service to improve a controversial relationship.
This action of Uber include ‘180 days of change’ program launched back in June to make the relevant changes as requested by drivers. This includes compensation of waiting time for passenger, and tipping to drivers.
Chief Executive Officer of Uber Mr. Dara Khosrowshahi regarded the 180 days of change program as the initiative to correct the past errors. The launch of Driver app is a step taken as long term strategy.
Driver app will have a new status bar that can assist drivers to decide their next location based on a point in requests. Notification feature will also be enabled that can allow the drivers to witness the messages of upcoming business opportunity. Feedback from riders will also be received.
Last year Uber highlighted various improvement features for the driver. This includes transparent approach to review driver’s performance, latest navigation system. This step was taken with regard to various complaints received by drivers.
Uber drivers are not their employees but are independent contractors. They are suppose to pay for car maintenance costs and are not given any paid sick leave.
Uber is currently facing fierce competition in United States and Asia and has already gone through $4.5 billion last year.
