Pakistan is preparing for the arrival of a westerly wave, according to the latest advisory from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The wave is expected to enter the upper parts of the country on May 16th and persist until May 18th, bringing wind-dust/thunderstorm rain with isolated hailstorms. The regions likely to be impacted include Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, and others.

The weather system may cause damage to structures and crops, particularly in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir on May 17th and 18th. Farmers are advised to take necessary precautions, and tourists are urged to remain cautious during the forecast period. The general public is advised to stay in safe places during the dust storm/windstorm/thunderstorm.

The regions likely to experience wind-dust/thunderstorm rain include Balochistan, south Punjab, and upper Sindh. The PMD has issued a warning to all concerned to remain vigilant and keep an eye on the weather forecast. Stay safe and secure during the predicted adverse weather conditions.
