Arshad Nadeem Wins Gold at Islamic Solidarity Games
Riyadh witnessed Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem deliver a top performance in the javelin final at the Islamic Solidarity Games on Wednesday night. He outthrew seven competitors to secure the gold medal. Muhammad Yasir Sultan earned silver, while Nigeria’s Samuel Adams took bronze with a 76.01-meter throw.
Arshad Nadeem’s performance details included a first throw of 75.44 meters, a second throw of 83.05 meters, a third of 82.48 meters, and a fourth throw of 77.06 meters. His fifth throw was invalid. Yasir Sultan’s notable throws were 71.38 meters in the fourth round and 71.79 meters in the fifth.

This marks Arshad Nadeem’s second gold at the Islamic Games. He has previously won gold for Pakistan at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Championships, and South Asian Games. He also holds a bronze medal in Islamic Games history. Under Pakistan’s national sports policy, Arshad Nadeem will receive PKR 10 million, while Yasir Sultan earns PKR 5 million.

Officials, including President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Pakistan Olympic Association, and PSB representatives, congratulated Arshad Nadeem for his victory.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s fencing team faced defeats on Wednesday. Khalid Mubarak, Muhammad Ijaz, and Ghulam Murtaza were unable to win any matches. Turkey continues to lead the medal table. Pakistan now has one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in the Islamic Games.
