Cricket Ireland Announced Squad For Inaugural Test Against Pakistan

Cricket Ireland announced 14 member squad for their first test against any test playing nation.

Ireland and Pakistan will face each other in a test match at Dublin on 11 May. William Porterfield will be the captain of Irish side while Sarfraz Ahmed will lead the Pakistan team.

According to Cricket Ireland, Ed Joyce, Kevin O’Brien, Gary Wilson, Tim Murtagh, Andre Balbirnie, Tyrone Kane, James Shannon, Paul Stirling, Niall O’Brien, Stuart Thompson, Boyd Rankin, Andy McBrine, and Nathan Smith are included in the Ireland Squad. However, Barry McCarthy, Simi Singh, and Jack Tector are dropped from the squad.


Pakistan will also play two test matches against England at Headingley and Lords on 24 May and 1 June. Two T20I matches will be also held against Scotland on 12 and 13 June. However, Pakistan team is currently doing practice on the marble slab to effectively deal with the short pitch deliveries.
