Asia Cup 2025, the 17th edition of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC)-organised tournament, to begin in UAE between 9 September to 28 September 2025. Initially, India was the host, but because of the geopolitical tensions, especially between India and Pakistan, the venue was shifted.
Asia Cup 2025 follows the T20 International (T20I) format as a major warm-up for the 2026 T20 World Cup. There will be eight teams participating (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and UAE, Oman and Hong Kong). These are five full ACC members and three 2024 qualifiers of the ACC Men Premier cup.
The ACC is likely to release the schedule of the 2025 Asia Cup match somewhere between July 26 and July 28 of 2025. The total number of matches in the tournament is 19 that comprise group stage, super four stage, and final. Both India and Pakistan belong to the same group and are going to meet on September 19, 2025.
Group A includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Nepal. Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Four, followed by the final on September 28.
The transfer to the UAE was decided at the ACC meeting in Dhaka on July 24 and 25. BCCI in India joined the participation virtually and pledged its adherence to the tournament. The sale of tickets and other related information regarding to broadcast will be made available shortly.
