Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team is making waves in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup. In their second group match held in Dubai, they secured a spot in the semi-finals after defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 69 runs. It was a solid performance by the boys in green, showing skill both with the bat and ball.
Batting first, Pakistan set a challenging target of 314 runs for the UAE, losing just three wickets in their 50 overs. The spotlight was on Shahzaib Khan, who smashed his second consecutive century of the tournament. His brilliant 132 runs, packed with six sixes and 11 boundaries, were a treat to watch. Partnering him was Riaz Ullah, who scored a classy 106 runs. Together, they built an impressive 183-run stand for the second wicket. Earlier, Usman Khan gave a steady start with 41 runs.
In reply, UAE couldn’t match Pakistan’s firepower. They managed to score 245 runs in their 50 overs, falling short by 69 runs. Ethan de Souza stood out for UAE with 84 runs, while Muhammad Riyan contributed 50. But their efforts weren’t enough to take down the strong Pakistani side.
Pakistan’s bowlers, especially Abdul Subhan, stole the show in the second innings. His lethal bowling spell of 6 wickets for just 57 runs sealed the win for Pakistan. The team’s all-around performance proved too much for the UAE to handle.
With this victory, Pakistan has confidently booked their place in the semi-finals, proving they are strong contenders for the title. Fans back home are cheering for more wins from this talented squad.
