National cricket chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq announced a 16-man Test squad for England Ireland Tests and Fawad Alam was once again not selected.
His fitness scores coupled with outstanding domestic performances over the years make him an ideal candidate to be part of the squad for the English series, but the selection committee has ignored him.
The five uncapped players that have been selected for the England and Ireland test series include openers Fakhar Zaman, and Imam-ul-Haq, Batsmen Usman Salahuddin, Saad Ali, and all rounder Faheem Ashraf.
Inzamam-ul-Haq has said at a press conference that the World Cup next year is in England, so we have decided to make several young players a part of the England and Ireland tests to give them exposure to the conditions. He added that this is a great opportunity for the young batsmen to gain experience.
