London: Pakistan cricket team coach Mickey Arthur said that the fearless Pakistan could give tough time to England in the first test match.
Mickey Arthur said that Pakistan could put the English side under pressure with its performance at the Lords test. England is desperately looking for a win after its winless tour of New Zealand and Australia. They played up till 13 test matches without any victory. On the other side Pakistan won their last historic test match with Ireland.
Two years back, Pakistan also succeeded to draw the four match test series at England by 2-2. However, at that time Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan were part of the squad. Pakistan is now relying on Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq to fill their gap. Inzamam-ul-Haq’s nephew Imam-ul-Haq also showed great batting skills during the test match with Ireland. Mickey Arthur also praised Imam-ul-Haq’s batting and said he performed well under pressure. In addition, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf also played great innings in the ongoing tour.
In the bowling department Pakistan will mainly rely on Muhammad Amir and Shadab Khan. However, Muhammad Abbas also did great bowling performance against Ireland. The first test match between Pakistan and England will be played from tomorrow 24 May.
