Kuldeep Yadav Praises Pakistan’s Performance in Asia Cup 2025 Final

India defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final played in Dubai on 28 September, winning by 5 wickets. After making a good start, Pakistan failed to reach the target and fell to 146 runs, as India pursued the target in the last over. Kuldeep Yadav, who was the top wicket-taker of the tournament with 17 wickets, played a decisive role with 4 wickets in the final. After the match, he praised Pakistan’s performance and acknowledged the quality of cricket displayed in the Asia Cup 2025 final.

India and Pakistan faced each other in the Asia Cup 2025 final at Dubai International Stadium. Pakistan batted first and scored 146 runs before being all out in 19.1 overs. India chased the target successfully with 150/5 in 19.4 overs, winning the Asia Cup title for the second consecutive time. Tilak Varma was awarded player of the match for his unbeaten 69 runs.

The top bowler in the final was Kuldeep Yadav. He sent back Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Afridi, and Faheem Ashraf and ended with 4 wickets at 30 runs. His performance in the Asia cup 2025 also earned him the highest wicket taker with a total of 17 wickets.

Speaking after the final, Kuldeep Yadav said, “We enjoyed a lot in the Asia Cup. It feels good to defeat a strong team. Pakistan played really good cricket.” He added that finals are meant to test players, and he was proud of India’s composure in the last overs. Kuldeep also highlighted the importance of respecting the opposition and praised Pakistan’s competitive spirit in the Asia Cup final 2025.

The post-match ceremony gained attention after India refused to accept the Asia Cup trophy from the ACC president and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Kuldeep responded by stating that holding the trophy is always special, but the main focus remains on winning matches and consistent performance.

The Pakistan cricket board was criticized due to team performance and the way the final was handled. Some of the former players, such as Shahid Afridi, opposed the blending of cricket and politics. There were also reports of disciplinary measure to some Pakistan players following the loss in the Asia Cup 2025 final.
