Lahore Qalandars Pick De Villiers, Hafeez During the PSL Draft

While the preparations for PSL 2018 are in full swing, Lahore Qalandars have just picked their members during a draft. The team has picked former South Africa captain, de Villiers, and veteran Mohammad Hafeez for the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is currently being held in the capital, Islamabad.

The Sixth Team, which was formerly known as Multan Sultans, have called in Shahid Afridi – previously represented Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi – as well as Australian batsman, Steve Smith.

Islamabad United, which has been the winner two times in a row, has said farewell to its former captain Misbah. The veteran is now picked up by Peshawar Zalmi.

With that said, a stunning total of 663 foreign players and local veterans have been listed for the draft so that they can play for the six franchises in cricket: Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, and the ‘Sixth Team’.

To those who are not aware, the Multan Sultans had previously been terminated by the Pakistan Cricket board as the team failed to pay its annual payment of US $5.2 million. Now, the place is empty until further notice, which is why it has been temporarily labelled as the ‘Sixth Team’.

Quetta Gladiators will soon be picking seven players more to increase their already 9 players.

The champions for PSL 2018, Islamabad United, will be picking last and Lahore Qalandars, who finished in the end will be picking in the first.
