Misbah ul Haq becomes Pakistan cricket head coach and chief selector


The wait regarding the new head coach of Pakistan is now over as Pakistan Cricket Board finally appointed Misbah ul Haq for the post.

Misbah ul Haq is now the new head coach and chief selector of Pakistan cricket team. On the other side, Waqar Younis will serve as the new bowling coach. Misbah was the choice of 5 member panel that consisted of Intikhab Alam, Bazid Khan, Asad Ali Khan, Wasim Khan, and Zakir Khan. However, PCB appointed Waqar Younis as a bowling coach on Misbah’s recommendation. Both former Pakistani players are appointed for 3 years.

Misbah ul Haq is acknowledged as the most successful Test captain of Pakistan. He led the Pakistan cricket team in 53 test matches with 24 wins, 18 losses, and 11 draws. Here are the milestones he achieved in his career.

On the other side, Waqar Younis was the most high-profile candidate to serve as the Pakistan’s bowling coach. In addition, he has previously been the team’s head coach twice. Waqar Younis has 416 and 373 wickets in 262 ODIs and 87 Tests respectively.
