As the ICC Champions Trophy approaches, preparations at Karachi’s iconic National Stadium are heating up. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken charge to ensure the stadium shines on the global stage, with upgrades moving full steam ahead.
Recently, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made a visit to the stadium to check on the progress, and his focus was clear—he wanted to enhance the stadium experience for fans. During his visit, he noticed that the electronic screen placement could improved, as it was blocking the match view for many fans. Mohsin Naqvi suggested lifting the screen higher to ensure everyone in the stands has a clear line of sight, which was a welcome decision for spectators who want to enjoy uninterrupted views.
On top of that, Naqvi highlighted the need to move the parking area closer to the stadium, making it easier and safer for fans to access the venue. He also asked the project teams to pick up the pace, stressing the importance of completing renovations ahead of schedule. With top international teams expected, he remarked that hosting the Champions Trophy is a huge honor for Pakistan.
The Frontier Works Organization (FWO), which is handling the project, provided PCB officials with updates on the renovations. They’ve assured us that all upgrades, including seating, lighting, and general facilities, will be ready on time. With this push, the National Stadium’s new look bound to make a strong impression, representing the heart of Pakistani cricket to fans and players worldwide.
