Dublin: Pakistan Vs Ireland Test Match becomes interesting as Ireland got a lead due to Kevin O’Brien’s Century
In the on-going Pakistan Vs Ireland Test Match, Kevin O’Brien made a century on his debut. Ireland has a lead of 139 runs and its three wickers are remaining. Ireland did a great comeback on the end of the fourth day. However, they reached from 157/6 to 319/7. kevin O’Brien made a great partnership with Stuart Thompson that put Irish side in a better position. Both players added 114 runs for the seventh wicket.
Earlier, Pakistan declared their innings on 310/9 after reducing Ireland to just 130 runs. In addition, Pakistan enforced follow-on after 16 years. Last time, it happened in 2002. Today, is a final day and the nail-biting contest is expected between both teams.
Pakistan VS Ireland test match initially restricted to four days as the rain dishearted the fans on Friday. Rules of the game were also changed as the lead limit for follow-on was reduced to 150 runs or more.
It is a historic match for both teams and especially for Ireland. The Irish team made their test debut in the match. However, it is the first occasion since 2000 for any team to make its test debut. However, except Australia, no team has ever won their first test match. Australia is the first and only team who beat England in their first test in 1877.
