Pakistani Cricket Team Departs For England and Ireland Test Series

Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Team has departed for the England and Ireland Test series. 27 people have departed from Lahore airport, 16 players while 11 are team officials that include head coach Mickey Arthur, Bowling Coach Azhar Mehmood, fielding Coach Steven Rickson, batting Coach Grant Flower.

The Pakistani cricket team is headed towards Ireland routed through Dubai, for their test series with Ireland and England consisting 1 test match with Ireland and 2 with England.  They headed to the airport from the training grounds in Lahore under strict security protocol. The team boarded the international flight AK623 which flew after a 28 minute delay.


The team of players in the flight consists of Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Azhar Ali, Imamul Haq, Sami Aslam, Haris Suhail, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Saad Ali, Asad Shafiq, Usama Salahuddin, Shadab Khan, Hassan Ali, Rahat Ali and Faheem Ashraf. Muhammad Amir could not depart due to not being able to receive a Visa; he will depart to join the team by tomorrow.

This time the team consists of young players who are being sent with the aim of next world Cup that will be played in England. The chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq had said that this will be a good opportunity for young players to check the English condition, as the next world cup is going to be played in England. The young players could use some getting used to by playing on an England pitch during this England and Ireland test series.
