Rafale Chants Erupt After Haris Rauf’s 6-0 Taunt to Indian Fans in Ind vs Pak Super 4 Match

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf made headlines during the Ind vs Pak match of the Asia Cup Super 4 by mocking Indian fans with a 6-0 hand gesture and plane-crash signals. The incident took place while Rauf was fielding near the boundary in the high-stakes game between Pakistan and India.

During the second innings of the Asia Cup Super 4 fixture, Haris Rauf formed a “0–6” sign with his fingers and then moved his hand like an aircraft before making it appear to crash. The move was largely understood by the audience to refer to the fact that in a previous border dispute in May 2025, Pakistan claimed to have shot down six Indian fighter jets, including Rafale planes. Fans inside the stadium responded with loud “Rafale Rafale” chants as the bowler continued his fielding duties.

The Ind vs Pak clash was already tense. Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill exchanged words with Pakistan’s pace attack, including Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf. Umpires stepped in to calm the situation after repeated verbal exchanges during the powerplay overs. Haris Rauf kept replying to taunts from the stands by pretending not to hear and kicking dust to silence the crowd.

Key Match Highlights from Asia Cup Super 4

India defeated Pakistan by six wickets while chasing a target of 172. Abhishek Sharma scored 74 runs off 39 balls, hitting six fours and five sixes, while Shubman Gill supported with 47 off 28 balls. Pakistan posted 171/5 with Sahibzada Farhan top-scoring with 58. Shaheen Afridi had a difficult spell, conceding early boundaries, including a first-ball six from Abhishek Sharma.

The video of a 6-0 gesture of Haris Rauf went viral on the social media, and Pakistani fans of cricket refer to him as the Rafale Hunter. The reaction of Indian fans was furious, and numerous fans without sides discussed the interpretation of the sign. The phrase “game speaks, not words,” a post written by Shubman Gill after the game, also turned into a trend on social media.
