Pakistan’s T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has expressed satisfaction over the performance of young players, stating that the team is on the right track to play modern and entertaining cricket for fans.
Speaking to the media after the match in Lahore, Salman Ali Agha emphasized the importance of playing aggressive cricket. “We have to decide the style of cricket we want to play. Our main focus is to entertain the fans,” he said.
Pakistan Cricket Team to Tour Bangladesh and West Indies
The captain confirmed that the national team is set to visit Bangladesh and then the West Indies. “We may need to include more spinners depending on the playing conditions,” he said.
Talking about the upcoming Asia Cup, Salman mentioned that if the tournament is held, it will likely be hosted in Dubai, where similar spin-friendly conditions are expected.
Main Team Will Remain Intact, Says Captain
Salman Ali Agha further stated that he wants to maintain the core of the national squad. “As long as I am the captain, we’ll play attacking cricket. Bowlers and batters must stay under pressure. Although the main team will be consistent, the doors are open for everyone,” he added.
Praise for Mohammad Haris and Team Flexibility
Salman praised young batter Mohammad Haris, saying he performed well throughout the series. “Haris is a number three batter, and Hassan Nawaz is doing well in the middle order. There will always be flexibility in the batting order,” he explained.
He also highlighted the importance of sticking to a process. “As long as we keep winning, our goals will naturally be achieved,” the captain added.
Relationship with Babar Azam and Social Media Rumors
Responding to questions about his friendship with Babar Azam, Salman clarified, “Babar has been my school friend since 2008. Back then, there was no social media. I haven’t followed him on social media, so the rumors of unfollowing are baseless.”
Lahore Crowd and Domestic Cricket Recognition
Salman thanked the Lahore crowd for their support and acknowledged that fans weren’t happy with the previous performances. “Now that we’re playing better cricket, the crowd is enjoying it more. Thank you for your support.”
He concluded by stating that domestic cricket and PSL performances will continue to be recognized in team selection.
