EDINBURGH: Sarfaraz Ahmed made highest score of his T20I career, 89 runs, against Scotland, bringing first victory for Pakistan.
The team captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss for the green shirts and chose to bat first against Scotland. The team took an aggressive approach and scored a total of 204 runs on the loss of four wickets.
Opener Ahmed Shehzad started off good but was dismissed for 14 off 12 balls, leaving the team at a 33 on one wicket. Fakhar Zaman was also sent off to the benches by Scotland bowling line with 21 off 15 balls. The green shirts were at a 46 with loss of 2 wickets when Fakhar Zaman was dismissed.
Captain of the Pakistani cricket team, Sarfaraz Ahmed made a 89 that lead the team to victory. Partnering him was an aggressive all-rounder Shoaib Malik who scored 53 on 27 balls.
Scotland could only score 156 runs off the 20 overs while chasing the Pakistan given target of 205 runs. Scotland lost 6 wickets on the 20 overs, owing to the Pakistani team’s bowling attack. Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Nawaz took one wicket each while Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali took 2 each.
The second T20I between Pakistan and Scotland is scheduled for June 13 in Edinburgh.
