Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been given major responsibilities by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Sarfaraz Ahmed will now oversee all matters of the Pakistan Shaheens and Pakistan Under-19 teams.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s role includes supervising team coaches, managing tours, and staying with teams during training camps and series in Pakistan. He will also travel with the teams on overseas assignments. His presence aims to strengthen the development of Pakistan’s upcoming cricket talent.
Career Stats of Sarfaraz Ahmed
Sarfaraz Ahmed made 54 Tests and 3,031 runs including four centuries and 21 fifties. He had 2,315 and two hundreds and 11 fifties in 117 ODIs. He had an average of 818 runs in 61 games with three fifties in T20Is.
In Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy, Pakistan won the 2017 Champions Trophy, defeating India by 180 runs with a win percentage of 70 percent. He won 5 out of 9 matches with a 62.5% win rate, in the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He won 29 and lost 37 matches out of 37 matches in T20Is, which had a win rate of 78.37.
In 2023, the 38-year-old played his final game with Pakistan in the red-ball version of the game in a Test against Australia in Perth. The new appointment of Sarfaraz Ahmed will be based on developing the young talent and the sustenance of the standards of the cricketing in Pakistan.
