Shahid Afridi will captain the ICC World XI side against the current T20 champion West Indies.
Pakistani star Shahid Afridi will be the skipper in the ICC World XI vs West Indies T20 match at Lords. He became the captain as the Eoin Morgan’s injury enforced him to withdraw from the match. However, Eoin Morgan was initially appointed as the captain for ICC World XI vs West Indies T20 match.
Earlier, some media reports raised concerns over the participation of Shahid Afridi in the ICC World XI vs West Indies T20 match. However, he confirmed his participation in the contest through his official twitter account. Here is his tweet.

Key Details about ICC World XI vs West Indies T20 match
ICC World XI team will consist of two players from Pakistan and New Zealand. In addition, each player will participate from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. However, Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi will represent Pakistan.
Carlos Braithwaite will lead the West Indies side. Andre Russell, Samuel Badree, Marlon Samuels, and Chris Gayle are also included in the squad.
The match will be played on 31 May (tomorrow) and all the collected money will be utilized for the redevelopment of damaged stadiums in the Caribbean region. In 2017, several stadiums were damaged due to the hurricanes in the region.
