Former Pakistan cricket captain and iconic all-rounder Shahid Afridi is all set to lead the Pakistan Champions squad in the upcoming World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, scheduled to take place in England from July 18 to August 2, 2025.
This much-anticipated tournament will feature six legendary teams—Pakistan, India, Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies—competing in a round-robin format across four iconic English venues: Edgbaston (Birmingham), County Ground (Northampton), Grace Road (Leicester), and Headingley (Leeds). The top four teams will progress to the semi-finals.
Sarfaraz Ahmed Joins the Squad
Adding significant strength to the Pakistan lineup, Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain who led Pakistan to victory in the 2017 Champions Trophy, will be part of the WCL 2025 squad. His leadership skills and wicket-keeping abilities make him a crucial asset for the team.
Power-Packed Lineup with Veteran All-Rounders
The squad also includes experienced campaigners like Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez, whose vast T20 experience and all-round capabilities bring much-needed balance and depth to the side.
Batting firepower will be provided by Sharjeel Khan and Kamran Akmal, while Asif Ali, known for his finishing prowess, adds further muscle to the middle and lower order.
