DRAFT CEREMONY OF PTPL HELD IN KARACHI

The players’ draft ceremony of the Pakistan Tape Ball Premier League (PTPL), organized by M/s Badar Expo, was held at a local hotel in Karachi. The event was attended by team owners, team captains, and leading tape ball cricket players from across Pakistan. Players were selected by team owners under the Platinum, Gold, and Silver categories.

The inaugural edition of the Pakistan Tape Ball Premier League (PTPL); a national-level, floodlit tape ball cricket tournament featuring teams from major cities across Pakistan, is scheduled to take place from 16th December to 31st December 2025 in Karachi. The tournament will be broadcast live on prominent sports channels as well as digital media platforms.

PTPL has evolved from the successful execution of four editions of the Karachi Tape Ball Premier League. The league is being guided under the esteemed patronage of legendary cricketer Javed Miandad, with support from cricketing icons Sadiq Muhammad, Haroon Rasheed, and Tauseef Ahmed. Their involvement highlights the significance of tape ball cricket as the foundational stage for numerous international players who have gone on to represent Pakistan.

On the occasion, the Chairman of PTPL Mr. Zohair Naseer shared his vision and roadmap for the future of tape ball cricket, extending his gratitude to sponsors, team owners, and media partners for being part of the league. Earlier, veteran cricketing icon/ former national team selector and Senior Vice President of PTPL, Mr. Haroon Rasheed, briefed the audience on the draft procedure and key details of the upcoming league.
