There is good news for sports enthusiasts as International golf in Pakistan returned after the long gap of 11 years.

International golf in Pakistan returned through Asian Tour UMA CNS Open Championship at Karachi Golf Club. 132 players from all over the world will participate in the golf tournament.

Event director of the Asian Tour, Robert Andrew, said that coming back to Pakistan is a fantastic opportunity for them. He further added that it is the initial point for future years after the success of this event.


Golf in Pakistan got the major setback as no international golf tour held since 2007. However, in 2008, the tournament was abandoned due to the terrorist attacks. After 2009 terrorist attack on the bus of Sri Lankan cricketers suspended all sports activities in Pakistan.

Naval Commodore Mushtaq Ahmed said that Pakistan Navy is hosting Asian Tour event and the prize money is $300,000. In 1989, Pakistan hosted its first Asian Tour event and Filipino Frankie Minoza won the tournament.
