Mohamed Salah consecutively voted as African Footballer of the Year


Mohamed Salah, Egypt striker, again voted as the African Footballer of the Year on Tuesday (yesterday).

African Footballer of the Year consecutively won by Mohamed Saleh in Dakar at Confederation of African Football awards ceremony. He beat his fellow candidates, Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool team mate Sadio Mane. However, last year, he also beat both players in the voting decided by head coaches and technical directors of 56 CAF member associations.

Mohamed Salah said that the award matters a lot for him, he loves it because he saw it when he was young and. However, he always had a dream to win it one day. Salah further added that he is proud to win the award for the 2nd time. He said that he is thankful to his team mates and family and dedicated the award to his country.

In 2018 Champions League, Mohamed Salah helped his team Liverpool to qualify for the final but he also suffered the shoulder injury in this tournament. He scored 13 goals in that tournament.
