Mushtaq Ahmed Appointed as Bowling Coach by West Indian Cricket Board


Web Desk: Former Pakistani leg-spinner, Mushtaq Ahmed is appointed as the bowling coach of the West Indies Cricket team on Tuesday.

Mushtaq Ahmed is reportedly to join the West Indies squad this month on a short-term appointment. Considering the team performance, his appointment can be converted into a long-term position in future.

After his  retirement from international cricket, Mushtaq Ahmed has served as coach with the Pakistan Super League, English Cricket Board, Indian Premier League, and Surrey. During his tenure with English team, he was appointed as a spin consultant for six years. The team won the T20 World Cup and multiple Ashes during his tenure.

On his latest appointment, Mushtaq Ahmed is highly rejoiced. He expressed, “It’s a privilege to work with West Indies cricket team. A team with a very rich history of class, commitment and sheer dominance in the cricket world. The talent from this part of the world has been exceptional and I am quite excited to work with them.”

After returning from England, Mushtaq Ahmed has been serving as the head coach of Pakistan Cricket Academy.
