Former International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Ehsan Mani became the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman.
Today, Ehsan Mani was elected unopposed and became the new PCB chairman. However, the decision came through the Board of Governors special meeting held in Lahore at Gaddafi Stadium.
Justice (retd) Syed Afzal Haider, Election Commissioner for PCB, chaired the meeting. However, during the last month, Prime Minister Imran Khan nominated Ehsan Mani as PCB governing board’s member.
Ehsan Mani’s Backgorund
He became ICC President in June 2003. Ehsan nominated for that position by PCB, whom he represented from 1989 until 1996 at the ICC.
In 1996, he was elected as Chairman of the ICC Finance and Marketing Committee. However, he held the position until the Committee was dissolved in 2002. However, he then took over as Vice-President of the ICC Executive Board.
Ehsan also served in different ICC Committees. However, it includes the Chairman’s Advisory Committee, set up to advize Sir Clyde Walcott and Lord Cowdrey during their term. In addition, he also worked on the Governance and Organisation Committee and the Rules Review Committee.
