Pakistan Draw Against India in a Thriller Hockey Match

Web Desk: Pakistan is able to level a hockey match played against arch rival India with a 2-2 score in a last-minute thriller at the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia.

India Dominated First Quarter

India scored two goals during the first half of the game, as Dilpreet Singh and Harmanpreet Singh were top scorers. In the third quarter, Irfan Jr brought some hope for Pakistan with one goal and luckily Ali Mubashar scored a last-second penalty to draw the game. India pressurized Pakistan and dominated the game in the first half. India’s Dilpreet Singh scored the first goal of the match with just 40 seconds left in the first quarter to end.


At the beginning of the second quarter, a Pakistani player Muhammad Atiq was shown a yellow card, bringing some favor to India. Harmanpreet Singh scored India’s second goal giving it a 2-0 lead. Akashdeep Singh of India and Muhammad Faisal Qadir of Pakistan got involved in a fight and the referee sent the two players out to cool their nerves down.

Pakistan Strike Back

After being dominated in the first two quarters, Pakistan pulled back and Mohammad Irfan Junior beat Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh for a goal. Almost 7 seconds before the final whistle, Pakistan got their final chance to score an equalizer after being awarded a penalty corner with time running around. The referee awarded Pakistan its eight penalty corner which Ali Mubashir converted to draw the match by 2-2 score.
