In US Open final, Rafael Nadal will not participate as he is now out of the tournament due to the knee injury. However, Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro will fight for the title.

Third seed Del Potro, the victor in 2009, was 7-6 (7/3), 6-2 ahead when Nadal quit. Del Potro will now confront Djokovic, the 2011 and 2015 champ, who achieved his eighth last at the competition and 23rd of his Grand Slam profession with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 walk around Japan’s Kei Nishikori.

Djokovic flaunts a 14-4 lead over Del Potro in a 10-year contention, including two wins without dropping a set at the US Open in 2007 and 2012.

Nadal, offering for a fourth title in New York and eighteenth major, had spent the best piece of 16 hours getting to the semi-finals. That included very nearly five hours to overcome Dominic Thiem in an epic quarter-final which extended into the early long stretches of Wednesday morning.
