Huawei Works on New AI Assistant to Rival Amazon Alexa and Google
Huawei, the leading smartphone brand, just revealed that it plans to build another AI-powered powered virtual assistant for other countries. It plans to introduce something similar to Xiaoyi, an AI Cube for China and in smartphones.
Richard Yu, Huawei’s CEO, has made this news in a recent interview. He said, “In the beginning, we are mainly using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.”
“We need more time to build our AI (artificial intelligence) services … Later we will expand this outside of China,” he added.
However, he has yet to reveal the languages that the AI assistant will support.
Regardless of his intentions with the AI in works, Yu said that the company will maintain its partnership with Google and Amazon in the future.
