Telenor now becomes the Pakistan first 4.5G network


Telenor Pakistan achieved another milestone as now they are the Pakistan first 4.5G network.

Telenor is now the Pakistan first 4.5G network as they launched the new technology in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. However, the high speed data network will significantly enhance the customer experience.

Sigve Brekke, Telenor Group CEO who is on 4 day visit to Pakistan, launched the 4.5G by making first call over the advanced LTE network.

Currently, more than 80% of Telenor Pakistan network supports 3G / 4G network. The launch of 4.5G services is a big milestone towards the latest technology in the country.

Telenor Pakistan is the first to aggregate its LTE 850 and LTE 1800 networks as one to give excellent data service experience for supported handsets. This feature leverages the available frequency different bands, thus provides the improved customer experience. However, they are utilizing the advanced 4.5G feature of ‘Carrier Aggregation’.

Telenor Group is one of the largest contributors to foreign direct investment in Pakistan.  In October, Telenor officials meet finance minister Asad Umar to discuss how to digitize the economy of Pakistan.
